A twenty-three year holiday tradition that you won’t want to miss!  Dance Ensemble Northwest’s version of this Holiday Classic follows Clara Stahlbaum on a whimsical journey she will never forget.  We begin at Drosselmeyer’s magical workshop of Dolls where he prepares for The Stahlbaum’s festive nineteenth century Christmas Eve party. At the Stahlbaum Residence we meet Clara, their lovely daughter, and Fritz her mischievous little brother, who entertain their guests with dancing, gifts, and Drosselmeyer’s magic. As the evening comes to an end Clara falls into a Magical sleep where she finds herself in the middle of a fierce battle between the Nutcracker’s Cavalry of Toy Soldiers and the Rat King’s ravenous Army of Rats. Upon victory the Nutcracker reveals himself as a Prince bearing great resemblance to Drosselmeyer’s nephew whom Clara fell in love with earlier that evening; and in gratitude the Prince leads Clara through the Land of Swirling Snowflakes to his Kingdom of Sweets where she meets the Sugar Plum Fairy and is treated to a Performance by the Sugar Plum’s Delectable Sweets to thank her for saving their Prince. Talented dancers from Dance Ensemble Northwest and InMotion Performing Arts Studio make up the incredible cast.
